FSSAI CEO Rajit Punhani has directed states and UTs to “expedite the recruitment of Food Safety Officers (FSOs) and Designated Officers (DOs) and fill existing vacancies to strengthen field-level regulatory capacity and scale up food safety enforcement across the country”.
